RAJA RAMMOHAN ROY

Mother India has produced many a great son.Raja Rammohan Roy is one of them. He was born in 1972 Radhanagar at Hooghly. He was a reformer at several levels _ educationl , religious and social. As an educational reformer he was a patron of Western scientific values and  respect for oriental education and ideals .As a  religious  reformer he had knowledge of various scriptures. As a social reformer he inspired the Indians to cultivate  humanism and rationalism. He established Vedanta college in kolkata Atmiya Sava and Brahmo Samaj. He protested against "Sati" .This great man passed away at Bristol in England in 1833.
