Biography of Jibananda Das

Jibanananda  Das  is a glaring star  in Bengali literature . He was born on 17 February in 1899, at Barishal , now in Bangladesh. Satyananda Das was his father and his mother was Kusum Kumari Das renowned poet of the day .Jibananda passed Matriculation in 1915 from Brajamohan school at Barishal and  he did I.A in 1917 from Brajamohan college at Barishal . Thereafter he did B.A (hons) in English in 1919 from Presidency college in kolkata .Jibanananda Das passed M.A in English in 1921 from culcata University .After completing education he took the job of teaching in a college.Jibananda  wrote many poems and books of poems . They are  ' Banalata sen ', ' Rupasi Bangla ' etc. He also wrote stories and two novels .This great poet received various awards. He received Rabindra Award in 1953 and Academy  Award in 1954 . Jibananda died on 22 October , 1954 .  Although he is no more with us  in this mundane world  he will  remain ever alive in the mind of his countrymen.
